Communication Department

The Mt. San Antonio College department of Communication is dedicated to helping students develop and improve their understanding of human communication through theoretical and practical exploration of this diverse field. Communication courses can be used to satisfy the vast majority of general education and transfer requirements. Students can also complete their Mt. SAC Associates Degree with an emphasis in Communication.  Student learning outcomes available for all courses here.

A 2010 survey of employers by the National Association of Colleges and Employers ranked communication skills as the #1 attribute they seek in potential employees.  Attention to our communication competency is critical to achieving excellence; even presidential candidates and top CEOs routinely participate in training to improve their communication ability. Students in any field of study will benefit from taking courses in this field and/or participating in departmental activities and organizations.
