We are now partnering with Southern Illinois University (SIU) to provide our Respiratory Therapy students with a pathway to a Bachelor's Degree in Health Care Management (online course work along with an internship at a healthcare facility). This pathway also leads to an online Master's Degree in Health Administration.

Respiratory Therapists are specialized healthcare practitioners who help educate, diagnose, and treat people suffering from lung and heart problems. Respiratory Therapists use their knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, microbiology, physics, and patient assessment to provide patient care.

Respiratory Therapists Provide:
  • Oxygen Therapy
  • Bronchial Hygiene therapy
  • Aerosol and Humidity therapy
  • Lung Expansion therapy
  • Airway Management
  • Emergency Life support

Respiratory therapists also utilize high tech medical equipment such as mechanical ventilators to assist patients who are unable to breathe on their own. Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity are needed to work with all Respiratory Therapy equipment.
